Was just in Frankfurt from the states, the only similarities between the two are shape. The american version are really bad tiny hot dogs cut into 2 inch sections and put into a can. The German/Austrian variety are freshly made and much longer. Albeit I couldn't get the canned version out of my head when eating the real thing and never really came around to them. But some of the other wursts's that you guys do are magical and put our american "hot dogs" to shame.
