It's probably because Archie Comics fired him because he wanted credit for creating Josie and the Pussycats.

So how did you feel when Archie fired Dan DeCarlo after over 43 years of work? I love him as an artist and was just plain furious when Archie Publications simply fired him after so many decades!

Hopefully they're getting credit for their work. And hopefully Dan responds to this.

What can you say about how Archie Publications firing Dan DeCarlo after over forty-three years of working and illustrating for the comic?

It was all because he wanted credit for creating Josie from Josie and the Pussycats--which he did. Why not give credit (and commissions) where it's due?

Is Archie Publications having a hard time coming up with new material that's actually good and funny? I've been a reader of Archie Comics ever since I was a kid (that's more than a decade.)

I noticed that the story and art of newer stories are sub-par at best, with weak plots and storylines that are just plain bad that I wonder why they were approved and published in the first place.

I like the 'Life With Archie' series--both the art and story--but the ones in the regular digests and double digests are just bad lately and I'm rethinking about buying books in those formats because of that.
