Were the units separated between genders? Did male and female patients interact on any level? Any "romance" going on?

Your daugther will be old enough and you can still share a lot of nice moments with her. When I think back to my childhood, the time between 5-10 was pretty amazing and I will treasure those memories forever. Still, the medicine field advances at a solid rate, so even if there won't be a definitive cure, I am sure there will be atleast something that will gain you some time. Best of luck!

This AMA could have been much more interesting, if you didn't avoid so many questions and answered straight; it is a very interesting topic. I get it, you're a reporter, want to be neutral and all that.

I'll try asking something you can answer: how would you describe living conditions on death row? Do prisoners keep their cells tidy? Is there any kind of... smell, on the row? Is it noisy? Do prisoners talk to each other from their cells?

I don't think you mean Lobotomy. That is a procedure that was mainly used in 30s and 40s and eventually banned... what it did was basically cut out the connection from the frontal lobe to the brain, which had a major impact on the person's personality and had huge side effects on the person (intellect decline, apathy, droopy eye, movements impair etc.) Very scary and thankfully not a practice in use today.
