first my grandfather thought he was back in the navy (which was a great time for him) and then he thought he was in a hotel and kept asking the nurses if he could stay a little longer because he liked it so much there. so yeah, it's not always bad :)

where I live Social Services are actively seeking female same sex couples, for fostering girls that have been sexually abused. while in some cases it's good for such girls to go to a heterosexual foster family in order to learn that not all men are bad and to learn to develop healthy relationships with men, others are better off for the time being in an all-female household.

my niece got a Friends set and i was surprised at how really Lego-y it was, compared to the first sets aimed specifically at girls, where there was hardly anything to build. they finally realized that girls like to build too. although, maybe they just forgot and then realized again, they used to know it apparently
