Many people have asked me if I enter into "another world" when I play piano - do this sort of thing happen for you? Do you enter into another world?

I am not sure if I can say that I enter into another world, like some outer body experience, that's pretty crazy, while playing the piano, but I will say that when really engaged with the music, my mind, I guess is completely immersed in the musical experience - this usually happens when I am listening to a really beautiful piece, like Sospiri Op. 70 by Edward Elgar. :) I wish this experience could happen more often, but school distracts me from having the time for this.

Just to add, i'm not on Mr Nasseri's level, but it is never too late, it will be like riding a bike for you! You will be surprised how quickly your fingers will allow pick up pieces you last played - I would suggest the Hanon Exercise book, it has a yellow cover, and it says Concert Pianist on the front - I think these exercises are good - but you also can just practice scales, for free w/o having to buy books. Scales, Thirds, Octaves, Chromatic, Trills etc.

Another exercise book, although I am biast, it is called the Russian Technical Regimen, that should whip anybody into shape lol :D Also, get a metronome, it is a good practicing, sometimes, annoying, but very useful practicing buddy.

good luck!! it's never too late to unleash, rather, re-release your amazing-ness :)

I always wonder, as a concert pianist, are you completely free to choose your repertoire for concerts? Or is there some sort of requirement or something that you have to abide by, (B.z. must include a Beethoven sonata, or a Prelude und Fugue by Bach at the start of the program)?

Do you have any non-musical hobbies? If so, what are they? Do you think they relate to music, in some way or another?

What other genres of music do you listen to?
