Is there any risk of scar tissue formation from this type of treatment? My dad had salivary gland carcinoma and underwent radiation treatment for it. About six months afterwards, he had scar tissue forming all over his neck and upper chest that caused a lot of issues. Towards the end, he had to get a tracheotomy and feeding tube because his airway was so narrowed by the scar tissue.
