The incident sounds SO much like what was happening at our university on the edges toward town. These random packs of African American youths were approaching groups of students like this, and then just beating them and taking what they could get their hands on quickly. It was two springs ago, and happened once or twice a weekend for a few months. One girl was in the hospital for weeks, then went home, never came back to school, the broke bones in her face. It stopped as suddenly as it started, and they never caught them.
