Yes I was born and brought up in India.. Not from a young age but I guess from 26 or 27.. At 24 I had done a trip from Pune to Cochin alone and I loved the feeling.. and then I read this book 'Don't ask an old bloke for directions' by P.G.Tenzing. That did did a 6 - 7 month mobike trip across India alone at the age of 43. SO that was the time I thought maybe its feasible.. :)

I did have a bad hangover once while I was riding there but I guess I can't blame it on the Naxals :) Otherwise no.. I mean I did pass through Naxal affected areas in Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Orissa but I don think I ventured too much into the interiors. and I travelled in day time and did not find anything spooky or weird.

I did see something about Aloknath going viral... I haven't checked it out yet.. But I am pretty certain I might not have.. :) Do you think it would have been better if I had ?? :)

I don think its that prevalent.. But you'll get nice hotel rooms for 600 to 800 Rupees (10 to 15 USD) everywhere. And if you compromise a little more on quality (the little more is subjective) you can even get rooms for 300 to 500 Rupees. Do bargain in most places. But anyway on a motorcycle I also used to look for parking spaces so could not really look at places tucked inside busy streets..
