Edit: Thank you to the first person who pointed out adblock, and the 40 people who repeated it afterwards. I'm already aware of adblock, adblock plus, and noscript... but as someone who pirates movies and software, why shouldn't I feel entitled to browse torrents annoyance-free without having to do any extra work on my part? Next you'll be wanting me to save money and go wait in line to buy video games.

Similar to reddit, the comments/community is what sets it apart to me. There are a lot of torrent sites, but TPB is where to go to see if a torrent is what it says it is.

Haha, I never said they were perfect. I also hate when 90% of the comments are personal attacks on other commenters, but even Youtube can't seem to stop that. Once you learn to weed through the bullshit, there are usually enough good ones to help.

Not true. The difference between "OEM" and "Retail" (at least with Windows 7) is not the software itself. What determines whether it is OEM or Retail is the key. If the key is OEM, it requires slic 2.1 in BIOS and digital certificate installed, then activates on each startup. If it is a retail key, I believe a unique hardware ID is generated and Microsoft creates a activation code based on it and the retail key (online activation.)

The difference between OEM and Retail is the licensing agreement, not the software. This may have been different in previous versions of Windows, but is not the case with Windows 7. The Windows 7 ISOs you can download from Digital River can be activated with Retail or OEM keys (provided you have the slic and certificate for OEM.)

I haven't played with Windows 8 enough to know for certain if this is still the case. If anyone has info on that, would appreciate it being shared.
