I had a terrible first marriage as well. I got married because I was young, stupid and irresponsible. We had a kid. When that happened I grew up quite a bit, my spouse did not. It ended quite badly and was dysfunctional throughout. Still, I got a lot out of it as a person and I got my daughter who is the most wonderful thing in my life.

Good luck to you and I am glad to hear that your current husband is a substantial improvement. I have not been brave enough to try those waters again myself, but it is nice to see it working out for someone.

I have three coworkers from Romania. I asked one if he and his wife were going to go see that movie. He told me that he and wife would not be going since they had both had a friend who had tried to have an abortion and died back then and that they were still sad. They were not able to even attend a funeral.

He added "These people here who want abortion to be outlawed. They do not know what they are talking about" and left it at that. Heavy stuff.

I am 52. Until I turned 50 I never had a problem with anxiety and now I do. Is that something that you have seen?

I would think that I would be less anxious, if anything, since I am okay financially and my daughter has left the house and has a successful career. Everything seems like it should be fine but I am more pathetic than ever.

I just checked out her YouTube channel and she is just a basic morena (cute too, high five dude). I'm surprised she got so many comments. Were they from people that had the same skin color? Or were these people fresas?

My personal experience was that I was talking with a Mexican tutor about working abroad and she told me that I could get a great job in Mexico City with no problem. I responded with "Yeah IT skills are in big demand everywhere" (I am a database specialist) and her response was "oh no, you would get a job because you are white and have blue eyes". I was a bit taken aback. I know this kind of thing happens but it was still a shock for me to hear it said out loud like that.

In a situation where an American would say "Fuck!" a Spanish person would say "Me cago en la hostia". Instead of saying "Fuck you!" they might say "Me cago en tus muertos". To me, as an American, that seems like a lot of work when a four letter word would suffice. Has the art of cursing leaned towards smaller profanities over times? Are we lazy at cursing?
