As someone that has paid for coaching at various times, I think your concept of what it is is pretty inaccurate. There is no advice giving, for starters.

Also it's not typically an attempt to to get some "external" success. It's usually an attempt to understand your own patterns and beliefs , and learn how you can slowly reshape them.
