Probably those are princes of a particular tribe. Back in ye olde times when the states were drawn up they threw lots of kingdoms in one state, or possibly even divided one kingdom to be covering parts of three states then.

These kings are still revered and considered royal apparently, some are even legitamite regional rulers.

TL;DR: In africa there are a myriad of kings who rule over a couple hundred thousand people. Most have many children, all of whom are princes.
