So you're sacrificing your future for the future of people who dont even care about YOUR future? At this point that feels not so much selfless and more irresponsible. I understand your difficult position, though I can't imagine being in it. Its never easy to go against family.
But without credit, you have no future. Forget the things you can't buy, like a car or a house or a boat, jobs look at your credit score. You NEED to do what is best for you, and stop putting bad people ahead of you.
If it helps, think of it as setting up the future for your future kids (if you want any) rather than just for yourself. Because, yes, if you have a bad score, your financial state is going to suck for the rest of their life too.

How much later did you go back to school?
I'm glad to hear you had a fast recovery from the initial trauma.

A language barrier won't result in you getting hit by a car because you couldn't see it coming.
You can change the environment around you to suit your needs, but when it comes down to it, there are things that you just need your hearing for - that is, after all, why we developed the sense.

He came back recently so we haven't heard back from him yet. But yes, he got to meet Stephen Hawking and several of the other professors there. He got to have a mini-lesson of sorts on Cosmology and speak with them about various subjects of his interest. Whether this was one on one, I'm not positive.
I was a little surprised at just how many people he was going to meet and how much time it seemed they were going to give him, so I'm not sure if he was going to a scheduled event or they were all doing this on their own time. I can see both possibilities, but I kinda want to believe it was a one on one experience lol.
He also got to do some of the typical UK wish trip things like a tour and visiting some of the local attractions. But his focus was clearly on Cambridge so I'm very happy that he got to have that and that his family got to have such a cool vacation with him.
Aaaaand now I'm crying.

It isn't quite semantic, but I can see how you might think that. To a Catholic at least, the word "marriage" doesn't simply mean civil union. It's a major ceremony encompassing the eternal commitment between you and another and God and it is very inherently religious.
To say the difference between "marriage" and "civil union" is simply semantic is like saying the difference between "bar/bat mitzvah" and "birthday" is simply semantic. They celebrate the same activity, sure, but there's a major religious component that is being overlooked that is too important to be overlooked.
