I am a student of economics and although I have a very cursory understanding of macroeconomics myself (just two undergrad classes on the topic), it seems that most contemporary works in the field make very heavy use of difficult mathematics.

How confident are you that the lay person could ever have any of these mathematical macroeconomic concepts "explained" to them in a way that they can understand?

As a second question, if macroeconomics cannot be explained, do you think macroeconomic policy should be something controlled by economists and not in any way through a democratic process?

Out of your competitors (e.g. Jang Miran, Tatiana, Zhou Lulu etc.), who do you respect the most and why?
