But the system has been gerrymandered and votes have been suppressed, you are in love with the way the system is designed and the idea behind the design and not the way it is. How can you say the system is great when incumbents with overwhelmingly dissatisfied constituents still win elections, time and time again?

Essentially, special interest lobbying takes up all the time and money that would be dedicated to the average American's wellbeing, and directs it towards the wellbeing of the average Fortune 500 company. Leaving us with nothing but new policies and less of an ability to establish real politicians.

Well only 1/3 of the country voted more or less, I'd say that speaks volumes about who should be running the country. The answer appears to be no one who's been subject to the meat grinder that is American Politics. We should have truly intelligent people, doctors, scientists, professors of law and economics leading this country. Not silvertongued speechmakers, who have very little clue about functional economics, scientific method or morality and whom have no respect for bettering this country asides from reducing their income tax rate. This breed of politician is becoming outdated, just like the industries they are enriched and empowered to protect. The fact that these fucks still have the position of power greatly frightens me of what is to come. Hopefully, truth and logic will win in the end but you don't have to look past Germany in the 1930's to see the result of a man In power who has no skills besides provocation. And no, the GOP is not the Nazi party, but the possibilities are endless when you have no really 'political skill' leading a country.

Except more of a rush because you know you are seconds from death at any given moment. I've talked to combat marines before, one guy would get full on erections during intense fire fights.
