Due to the nature of my work, I meet many building caretakers on a daily basis who have varying degrees of feigned interest in their jobs. As I understand, a lot of them get reduced rent as well as a salary. My question is - do you have this job because you enjoy it, or is it just a paycheck?

I can respect that. Taking care of a building of people is a large responsibility and you're the property manager's last line of defense before having to pay for a serviceman such as myself to come and fix an issue. I understand that there are always going to be a lot of shitty tenants that you'd rather not help, but I can tell you from firsthand experience (both as a tenant and professionally) having a good caretaker makes life much easier. Kudos, sir.
