It is not the direct heat of using that energy that is the source of the global warming problem, it is the co2 we put in the atmosphere that is acting like a blanket over the earth. Isaac Arthur predicted that there will still be a global warming problem if we use fission, because, as you say, the direct heat can become a problem too when we use a lot more energy, but this is nothing compared too co2 concentrations
