I'll frame it a different way.

Some people can feel quite sad, often. In some cultures, its acceptable, it is a way of life, it is taken as a standard or a non issue. It may be written off as just part of their personality, or a phase they are going through. For some people, this sadness is a symptom of a real disorder, but because we tend to ignore it/brush it away, and because of our lack of awareness and willing to confront the unknown, it can be left undiagnosed as a serious problem. In some cases, there are definitive treatments. Even if there aren't solid treatments, just making light of the situation can definitely help bring about progress towards a solution or at least management.

Should we ignore our own problems because they make our friends or family feel uncomfortable? I am not talking about random strangers, but you will know how hard it can be to admit certain things to friends and family. But if they treat us harshly at our most vulnerable, in our time of need, do they even deserve the titles of friend or family?

Ignoring problems allows suffering to continue. You may be fine, but there are millions out there who need a strong voice to open a dialogue, to get things moving.

Do you get why I ask now?

One side of me thinks this is a topic that needs to be discussed. Because for Muslims, Muhammad is the ideal man.

But certain parts of the Iranian American community are wealthy, so why bother with the nitty gritty of religion. "Just be good". I think that has much wider negative implications, the non-nonchalance of the moderates. They say "humor denotes intelligence", so what say you?

Well Muhammad had a dream from God to marry Aisha. He did at age 6 but she remained with her family. At 9, she was taken to live wih him and they consummated their marriage.

That is a non-controversial stance, it is backed by Islamic evidence, and a fairly basic fact about Muhammeds life.

The issue is that educated, good, honest, "moderate" Muslims generally just ignore this, or choose not to confront it. A lot of the Iranian American community is Muslim. Do you think the fact that Muhammad did some seemingly controversial things be confronted or ignored because it has no real importance now?

Another question: Why do you call yourself Persian rather than Iranian?

The humor/intelligence line was because you are a comedian, so I assume you can understand and appreciate situations from multiple, different perspectives, which usually leads to a more balanced and intelligent understanding of a situation.

An honest answer is better than a good answer.

I understand he is the prophet of your religion, but he also had sexual relations with a 9 year old. Without researching good answers or asking people for answers, how do you feel about this?

This is not a "gotcha" question. We both know it is a very grey area, conflict and all with the religious aspect. You are a bright, intelligent person. What are your thoughts on it?

How do you feel about Prophet Muhammad consummating his marriage to Aisha at age 9?
