I thoroughly respect this statement. I wish all Americans would recognize and live by these words.

I don't always agree with some advocacy group's actions, or certain types of political parties, but I respect the people that do fight for those causes. That is what our founding fathers envisioned: a diverse group of constituents to fight and debate their beliefs.

This country thrives because people vigorously debate issues like gun control, privacy, freedom of speech, and many other topics that grow and evolve with time. Checks and Balances, at the government and the constituent level, must never die.
