it's really difficult for me to take this blog post seriously. The selection of respondents in the cited studies is laughable. Conduct such a survey at a reputable AI conference (AAAI, IJCAI, NIPS, ICML) if you want to get a realistic view of what experts think.

If only you know your address, how does that endanger anonymity?

I'm unsure how to guarantee anonymity. It would be anonymous if nobody knew your address, this is easy to implement on the governments side but possible hard to implement such that it is verifiable (i.e. the government can give you an account and doesn't have to remember it but how can you be sure they aren't remembering it). What is to gain is decentralizing security and counting. It should be harder to hack or manipulate than current voting approaches.
