Air Traffic Controller here. I have a Secret Clearance. How did you get a Top Secret Clearance? I'm assuming that was a typo.

Don't ever go back. Your mother may seek closure when you're older, or when you have kids. She doesn't deserve it.

As a controller, I agree. Very annoying. In fact, I had to chew out my trainee a few times for not giving the pilots enough time to answer before calling them again. If I'm not busy, I'll wait at least 10 seconds. If I'm busy, I'll give it a good 3 or 4 seconds then go on to my next task, then come back to the this aircraft.
