I didn't realise the rates go this high. In Montreal it's under $200 (actually $125 + $1.75 per km travelled), but it's covered if it's a car accident, a fire, it happens at work, you're in or were in the army or the RCMP, are on welfare or a prisoner, are First Nations, etc...

What are the exemptions in your province? Not having any is a serious breach in the "accessibility" clause of the federal health care deal, in my opinion.

EDIT: I just realised all Quebecers pay for obligatory health insurance every year, perhaps this is the main difference.
