i just wrote a paper on this! exciting. from my understanding of a paper i read by damuth and heisler is that multi-level selection can look at group selection in two ways 1. group selection focused on the individual's interaction with the group and environment 2. group selection focused on the variation, heritability, and differential reproduction of the group. i think that this second way of looking at group selection {mls2} focuses on situations like queen ants, where the first looks at things like altruism, which are characters of the individual. it is an interesting idea.

I recently read "A brief history of time" and my interest in the cosmos has been growing. Are there any books you could recommend?
