I live in this region and 75k isn't a ton of money at all if you have a family. If you're a single dude, it' no big deal.

But if you have diapers, day care, and other kiddo related expenses, (on top of needing an apartment with more than one bedroom) you're going to need a second income - either from a partner or a second job.

Yeah, it's tough. I think that because they are vilified so much there is this "circle the wagons" mentality that preclude honest self reflection or improvement.
