I hate to say it but yeah. Harvey is actually very cute. Downside: I have no idea what we'll do ads about now.

Yeah, I think some of the logic is the same logic as TAL and Torey, that it's nice to have one more tiny thing at the end of the episode.

The other part is that Matt is a superhero at Gimlet. He does everything that makes the place not burn down. But he is also weirdly humble so he told us not to even put him in the credits of the show. So we decided to make his role on our show more absurd as time went on.

I promise things are better now! We're working very hard but not in the frenetic, hygeine-less way that we were before.

That episode helped a lot. Just talking about it. We're lucky to work at a place where people listen. And also, Reply All hired a bunch more people who are very talented -- The Rev. John De Lore, who mixes and soundscapes a lot of the show, Tim Howard, our senior producer, and Sruthi Pinnamaneni, who is a brilliant producer/editor/writer/ass-kicker. That helps a lot.

I think that Startup season 2 will maybe have some Gimlet updates too. Also Nazanin just stopped by the office (like right now). She and Blumberg are talking but he does not seem to be recording it.

Other things are in the works. Very very good other things.

Hi! In no particular order, just running through overcast picking out good short ones that are more or less narrative journalism based: 99% Invisible, Song Exploder, Death Sex and Money, The Heart, How to Do Everything, The Longest Shortest Time, Love & Radio, Another Round, The Memory Palace, Planet Money, Pitch, Radio Ambulante, The Gist, Slate's Working, Strangers, Tape (it's interviews with people who make these things and I really love it, like Longform but for podcasters), Wiretap.

Longer stuff that is great and feels less like storytelling and more like smart, funny people having a conversation: Longform, The Read, Call Your Girlfriend, U Talking U2 To Me?, You Made it Weird, The Bone Zone (Alex's favorite podcast).

Also I haven't check out Random Tape or Everything Stories yet but those are two that I hear really good things about. They're supposed to be good and weird. Also no one is going to listen to me but Pauly Shore's Interested Podcast has an episode with Andy Dick that is fascinating, entertaining, and experimental.

ALSO we try to recommend non-Gimlet podcast stuff every week on our newsletter, which you can sign up for at replyall.limo. The link is a little hard to find, but it's the box that says "Join Newsletter." And I like the website the timbre for podcast criticism and recommendations. And The Onion AV Club's podmass. And Sam Greenspan's podcast recommendation newsletter, YSLTF.
