I had a project for a while where I had to keep track of the offspring of two consecutive matings (I'm an insect scientist) of the individual "RIH2476". So the first offspring was 2746-1, etc. and the second group of offsping was 2746-1-1 etc. EVERY SINGLE TIME excel thought that I was referring to January First Year of Our Lord 2746, which you'll recognize as 729 years from now. I had to insert a character for every instance of that, or the auto-sorting would be all messed up.

My favorite is "You and I", followed closely by "Be OK".

Unfortunately excel auto-recognizes this kind of sequence as a date, so every time I enter the cell and then exit it, it would re-format. Even if I started with a blank cell, formatted it as text, and then entered the numbers, it would then auto-format to date. If you then re-format to text it converts it to the numerical date-text. It's very frustrating

Off the top of my head: there are lots of great clubs that you can be involved in, depending on your interests:

• You can join clubs like Paul Nicklen's (Nat Geo Photographer) Sea Legacy (not pointing that one out as one to join, it's just an example)

• You can search for local Ocean Cleanups

• You can scale back your use of Microplastic-Containing clothing like tech-fabrics (just buy cotton instead)

• Eat sustainable seafood

• Generally reduce your personal carbon footprint

• If you're a diver, don't touch! and choose marine-safe sunscreen

Is there any reason why California doesn't have a gray water subsidy? Like a giant tax deduction for installing a gray water filter? We have them for solar panels, for electric cars, for donating clothes, for installing insulation, but not for water? It doesn't make sense to me. With the amount of water that goes on lawns in this state, shouldn't it be better to just re-use water for that purpose? Is it just because "the children play in the sprinklers!?", despite the fact that gray water is safe...

I hope there's a way we could figure this out, because it could save everyone so much money, and water.
