i joined the army right out of college. no, it's not too late to enlist. but i would advise you to join (in preference) the air force, coast guard, navy, army then marines - in that order.

i did five years in the army and most of that in a joint assignment (all services in the same office). air force were treated the best. the army is a bureaucratic nightmare by virtue of sheer size.
