Baltic states are happy to host NATO troops, because after what happened in Ukraine we are much more paranoid about little green men. And killing USA/German/Canadian/etc. soldier would have much more dire consequences.

For me the biggest WTF regarding history was the portrayal of the WWII. It was not even called World War II, it was "The Great Patriotic" war and was only concerned with Red Army fighting the Nazis.
