Often after they repave the street my Vespa no longer triggers the signal. My assumption has always been that they covered up the sensors with too much asphalt or something like that. I will usually contact the city to fix the problem and after they fix it I don't see anything different in the street, it doesn't look like they removed any asphalt or cut into it or anything. What do they have to do to fix it? And why for crying out loud can't they consider the bikes in the first place?

EDIT: The thing is, I have my routes that I take and the lights will work until they do some work on the road and then they no longer work. I know how to aim for the sensor on the road and all that. I wish that after they did the road work they just had a standard procedure to make sure the light still was as sensitive as before. I shouldn't have to purchase equipment to make the street work like it did before, nor should I have to pester the city to have basic functional services.

You look like a youthful, active person who is still interested and invested in being a part of the world. How do you maintain your positive attitude toward living? My boyfriend's 90+ year old mother is always saying things like she's outlived her usefulness and wishes she would just die already. It's terribly sad.

Oh man I am so jealous! Can you imagine anything more wonderful than to work with chocolate? All the smells, all the creativity, the artfulness of the beautiful little chocolates. Is it as wonderful as I imagine? Or is it a drudge like running any other business? Or is it all shitty employees, boring bookkeeping and inventory, chocolate gets old, too many long days and not enough time off?

You could try the PCT. It's a lot less lonely and a little more tame than wild Africa.
