Why shouldn't we as a people demand a change to the 13th amendment removing the exception to slavery? Seems like the most logical place to start when you want sweeping reform.

Why are you worried about 2000 slaves overseas when the largest slave labor industry this world has ever seen is holding 2.5 million slaves right here in the United States prison system?
The 13th Amendment to the Constitution declared that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
The slave trade was never abolished. It was privatized in our prison system.
