I am junior in college studying computer science. I have written a few android apps but how would I get involved in working on custom roms? I have never been able to find a good amount of documentation to get started. Thanks!

This is exactly what the University of Nebraska does. You can test out of basis class and go straight to a OOP class. After that you are expected to figure out any languages you might be. Engineers can take a C class I suppose but most CS majors have to teach themselves. Classes mostly teach algorithms.discrete,low level design, and many other topics but not the languages you will use in them. Even assembly was expected to be self taught. Hell I had to self learn Haskell and prolog... That was fun.
