I personally tried clarifying something at one point. I was well-educated on the subject and it wasn't wrong per se, but it could be clearer.
It was reverted within a few minutes with a polite, but firm mention of a ton of wikipedia rules. Which is great, I suppose, but I wanted to spend five minutes to contribute, not five hours to learn how to contribute.

A lot of the unexploded shells in Europe are due to retreating soldiers dumping their ammunition in the nearest body of water, so that it wouldn't be used by the enemy. This is also a reason why some lakes, particularly in Belgium, still have a few bombs left to be found even today.
Granted, there are still incidents of unexploded bombs found in basements and the like, but I feel there's a difference between ordnance that was supposed to blow up and didn't, and ordnance that just got dumped during a retreat.

We're going to have to put it down.
On the table. Put it down the table. And fix it.
