Wasn't the SAM sequence in Behind Enemy Air Lines incredibly unrealistic? The SAM that was launched (I think it was an SA-13, it's been a while) had like a ten-minute burn time on its rotor, and was able to perform LOAL-esque manuevers to re-engage the Super Hornet whenever it missed.
It acted more like a torpedo than a missile, IMO, which are capable of re-engaging targets after a miss IIRC.

Declassified information shows that both Javelin and TOW are top-attack anti-armor weapons (no need to attack from sides/behind) with tandem warheads (to defeat ERA). Both will likely produce great effects on target, so long as it hits.

And yes, medics still carry a primary weapon. In the Canadian Armed Forces, it's the C8 (Canadian version of the M4).
