First off, I hope you continue on your journey to peace and happiness.

Have you tried to reconcile with your wife/show her that you are attempting to progress? Are you still involved in the daily lives of your children/have you ever lashed out at them directly/indirectly and affected them in a way that you now regret?

Astronauts are traditionally selected based on their ability to endure rigorous mental and physical training and excellence in a particular related field. What qualifications do you have and what can you bring to the table/contribute as a member of the crew to Mars, if it were to happen? You are completely okay with the idea that you would never be able to return to earth (last I heard)? Is your family okay with it?
