7,000 dollars is nothing. the VA may not be the greatest, but they cant do much when they are under funded. considering the millions of people it serves, and the amount of money they have to work with, its impressive it accomplishes what it does.
4 million people with a budget of 180 billion...thats $45,000 per person. how much did his surgery cost again? a few million...3,000,000 ~ 67 * 45,000
the VA wont have resources for 67 people.
he didnt get fucked by the department of defense, he should count himself lucky. im sure the people denied treatment due to lack of funding wouldnt mind being $7,000 in debt.
thats not to mention the rest of the country and all those who cant even afford health insurance.
