00:01:01 This joke will get you back up.
00:01:03 Let's hear the joke.
00:01:04 >> This fella says man, you ever heard the time about the old prospector?
00:01:10 And he says there was no prospector and he was prospector for gold and he was having a hell of a time getting his gold.
00:01:23 It was an empty stake, i believe.
00:01:26 And he had been in the mine nor a good eight months, and he said I'm only flesh and blood.
00:01:33 And I need -- I need a woman.
00:01:35 You know?
00:01:36 And so he goes in to town and he goes up the bar tender and says man, I've been in that mine for a hell of a long time.
00:01:44 And I'm only flesh and blood.
00:01:45 I need a woman.
00:01:46 Well, the bar tender says hell, there ain't no women in this town.
00:01:50 If you want to do any of that business all we got is andy richter the swedish german.
00:01:58 [Applause] the prospector says no, no, he says, hell, I ain't into that funny stuff, you know.
00:02:09 I'll be fine.
00:02:11 So he goes back to his stake and back in that mind.
00:02:15 And six months pass, and a year passes, and conan, you know, people are weak, man is made of flesh and pride as the scriptures tell us and by god, that old prospector finally broke to his knees and he said I'm no worse than -- he went back to the be back.
00:02:36 And he was a beaten man.
00:02:37 He says to the bar tender, hell, man, I've been in that place 2 1/2 years.
00:02:42 A man has needs.
00:02:42 And if you say there's no women in this here town, he says, well, I'll have to go for andy richter, the swedish german.
00:02:50 Conan: uh-huh.
00:02:53 >> But he said listen now, I'm a tough old hombre.
00:02:57 And I got friends.
00:02:57 And I don't want anybody to know about this.
00:03:00 This is back in the old days.
00:03:01 Conan: sure, yeah.
00:03:04 I can tell by the arc sent, yeah.
00:03:06 >> He says I got my cow poke friends and I would hate to hell for anybody to know about this.
00:03:12 This has to be all secret.
00:03:14 Nobody, I say nobody can know about this.
00:03:16 The bar tender says well, four people know about it.
00:03:19 How do you figure that, sea sniss -- he says?
00:03:23 Well, I'll know about it, you'll know about it, andy richter the swedish german will know about it and the fellow that has to hold down andy will know about it.
00:03:35 [Laughter] [cheers and applause] conan: why?
00:03:38 >> Because andy richter the swedish german, he don't go for that funny business, neither.
00:03:45 at least you left me my dignity.
00:03:47 Conan: yeah.
00:03:48 I like the way that story ended.
00:03:50 >> You weren't dead.
00:03:53 Andy: that's beside the point.
00:03:56 >> You were raped.
00:04:01 it's more that I wasn't prostituting myself.
00:04:07 Horrible man.
00:04:13 It's still cable but still valuable cable time.
tl;dr: I'm not sure that was worth my effort.

Over the course of two years, Purdue Pharma provided the LAT with more than a dozen hours of briefings and discussions regarding the clinical evidence supporting OxyContin’s 12-hour dosing and the regulatory requirement that we promote the product as such.
wow, that an hour every other month, and I'm not sure if that's enough time, too much, or too little. it raised some questions:
- did you meet with the same people each time?
- was it mostly big-wigs or was it lab people?
- did you feel like this time with purdue was well spent or you were being given the run-around?
- how was that 12 hours broke-apart (2 6 hours meetings, or a bunch of small ones?)
- was it actually 12 hours?

Can you recommend any good starting material?
I am interested for my own education and personal "mental housekeeping" as well as being a new parent.

How did the "developer lifestyle" at Sierra way-back-when compare to the current lifestyle you now have? Is there anything you miss, or hated, about being a game developer during that time period?
