Was your flash drive marked in a way that let your doctor know he should plug it in and check it? Awesome story. I hope many people benefit from Minerva.

I hope the anxiety gets better for you - reading this answer felt backwards to me as, personally, my anxiety near-vanishes after making a tough decision. Hopefully you will feel better after the surgery once the pain is gone and you can start working towards living a normal life again with prosthetics.

Off topic question. What type of bike were you riding? Have you ridden since the accident? I ask this as a fellow motorcycle rider out of pure curiosity.

Best of luck.

I can imagine having stuff in your foot fused together would make shifting near impossible. Maybe you can get one of those fancy can ams after you get your new foot!

It's always the uncertainty that exacerbates anxiety so I genuinely hope that your recovery and acclamation to life with a prosthetic leg goes super fast!

When my mom was pregnant with my sister, they did see those soft markers...I remember the first was the missing bone in the nose. She still turned down an amnio because they significantly increase the chance of miscarriage or other pregnancy complications. Same as you said, my parents would not have aborted had they known, so they turned down those tests many times.

I'm obviously biased because I love my little sister so much, but I get sad when people talk about it like "why didn't you get an amnio?!" as if it's the worst thing in the world. She was probably the greatest thing to happen to my family, she is awesome.

Keep being a great dad and enjoying your kids :)
