The best think I learned was to never assume that your way of doing things is the best way of doing things - there's always something to be learned from those around you. Just observe others and you'll be a better person for it.
I've also learned that I fucking love tons of ice in my drink.

No, but I have a funny story about that.
The entire time I was living there both parents were having extramarital affairs (this is very common there). One night the mom accidentally sent me a text meant for her beau. Something about drizzling honey on her naked body and something involving a giant scarf haha.
EDIT: when I say "there" I mean in the upper eschelons of Parisian society.

Nothing! I was so embarrassed for her! But as a parting gift I gave her a giant scarf and a jar of honey as a joke. She loved it!
