12 hours is the most for a single trip. If you can get in under 10 hours you can take 0 hours of rest if you want. Anything over 10 hours and you're stuck on mandatory rest, which is 6 hours at your away from home terminal and 8 at home. Also, there are jobs where you can take 0 hours rest and jump on another train to go home. If you do this then the time spent between the two trips cannot exceed 18 hours.

If you're stuck on a work train though, then they can work you for 16 hours.

It'll only last a couple of days. The government already has legislation drawn up to force us back to work. Which is bullshit, it's the only leverage a union has and our contract has been expired since about June or July.

Haven't had to do that it yet, but I've been told to just get the engineer to drop the knuckle on the ground with a fusee. Then you just get him to bring you up to it, throw it on the platform, and then ride back to the rest of your train with it.

I'm sure there's a few rule violations with this method though.
