  1. Were you a political appointee or a civil servant?

  2. Do you have anything to do with the crack/coke sentencing disparity? Or are you familiar with the process with how this came into existence?

  3. If (2), I have read that agitation from black community leaders had a lot to do with creating the disparity in the first place. That is, they wanted crack possession punished more harshly. Would you say this was true? Did you experience any of this yourself (assuming you were not isolated from politics)?
