Why doesn't the Green Party focus on "smaller" offices (city comptroller, city councils, state legislatures, etc.) instead of coming out of the woodwork and running a Presidential candidate every 4 years? Focusing on smaller offices would allow an organic grassroots campaign to be created (think of Bernie's Progressive Revolution.) As it stands right now, focusing on the presidential level is a waste of everyone's time.

Wouldn't the Green Party be better served running for office as, say, the Governor of Oregon or Vermont? Running for the presidency is a Sisyphean waste of time. How do you expect the Greens to win the presidency without putting in the coalition-building and actual governing hard work?

An Evan McMullin-esque run for Vermont or Oregon makes far more sense for your candidacy than a 50-state campaign.
