I have mild cerebral palsy and I've gotten a whole lot of backlash and hate lately from friends I know IRL because I've had to switch majors. I was a music major, but my hands are bad enough that I can't play piano. They say I'm giving up on my life's goals and I'm furious with them. My question is how do you deal with people who believe your physical limitations are a character flaw?

I know this isn't exactly fair but I've got 3 questions...
How many students have you had who genuinely wanted a career in music rather than just an easy A?
Do you sill remember your college Music Theory?
Can you help me with MY Theory homework? =P

Music is and will always be one of my passions, but after taking the piano course three times and having to drop the class three times, I had to think about where my true talents were and decided that even though I might love music more, my natural affinity is in writing and it would be more fulfilling for me to nurture a talent that's already there rather than trying to grow a tropical rainforest in barren soil
