In the book, you wrote about "being the dog and definitely getting walked"....can you break that down for readers and give us some ideas about not finding ourselves in that position or at least, less often??

Near the end of the book, Daniel Ellsberg reveals that during his gov't employment, the U.S. vs Russia nuclear arms race (in terms of the numbers of warheads) was grossly over exaggerated by U.S. officials. This revelation took my breath away, considering how much incessant fear this created and how my parent's generation down to my own (and further still) was/is haunted by this spectre of impending mutually assured destruction. At that time, it was an absolute lie. 4 missiles!

What, if any, parallels do/can we today see in this type of "selling the idea" of the need for war and building/supplying arms?
