How should one resist the pressure to start getting into addictions such as drugs and smoking ?

What would you suggest is the easiest excercises that need no require a lot of time or effort ( so that even busy people could do them) that could be done in order to prevent arthritis or at least significantly reduce the chances of it happening ?

Is there a backup plan incase something goes wrong?

Do you think this could be brought about in the form of legislation with special emphasis on the current political scenario and the intense lobbying present in the legislative bodies?
