Thanks for the answer. At least in my area they make it more and more difficult so that it surpasses my technical abilities. So it’s definitely impossible for the average user.

That is the solution I had to use. Problem is the ISP router is not really made for the speed they offer so I have to regularly reset it after it chokes on itself. Defeats the purpose of Fiber a bit...

Router. It was that you could just spoof the MAC Address and use the login credentials. Doesn’t work anymore so I’m left with a basic DMZ with a route that’s not made to handle the speed they are offering...

At least in my experience you won’t get a WAN ip assigned even if MAC address and credentials are correct. I don’t know what magic they put in there but I couldn’t get it to work.

What do you think about ISP’s often forcing you to use their router, however save they might be. Is there any legal base for it?
