I think 'punching up' is a good way to put it. I think when Frankie Boyle made the 'joke' he did about Katie Price's son though, that certainly wasn't the case. I wonder if many comedians would agree, or, if they do, stay silent to avoid unnecessary controversy.
EDIT: I note a few people are justifying Frankie Boyle here by saying that Katie Price used her son to boost her exposure. OK, sure I guess, but her actions don't make the son a viable target for such vile comments.

You're justifying Frankie making such crass 'shock value only' comments about the son due to his mother using him to keep her own exposure. I don't know about that, but I would certainly say that, if that is the case, such comments about the son is aiming at the completely wrong target?!

You might have a point if the comments Frankie made were against Katie Price, and not against her son, unless you are suggesting her son is the one responsible for Katie Price not keeping him "off-limits". Frankie's comments were directed towards the son, and had no comedic merit besides shock value.

On P&T Bullshit!, I sometimes thought that the calibre of ’expert' you brought on was not really up to standard, and other people in the field may have been much harder to call 'bullshit' on. So, basically, what I'm asking is, on what basis did you choose your experts on?
