The American mental health system causes deaths, just because people choose guns does not mean that they wouldn't choose cars, or knives, or any other manner of deadly implements if guns were banned.

The fact of the matter is guns are out there, and they're not going away. The only people who are actually going to follow gun laws are those who follow the law in general, hamstringing themselves against those who would do them harm. Not to mention, lawful gun owners are one of the most law-abiding subsections of the American population, even more-so than police officers.

Not to mention a total ban is completely unconstitutional. How about a total ban on freedom of religion? It's on the same level.
