I'm about to start a reliability engineering internship where part of it will be investigating machine failures, any advice on the overall approach when looking for issues and causes?

How do you get all the data to make these calculations?

What design considerations are there when designing the flight deck / controls of Orion versus a conventional aircraft? I read the flight deck is based off the 787s.

To follow up, what programs / code is used for the calculations ? I'm just an undergrad but we use python and R studio. I know your group has much fancier technology.
