Do you have trouble getting respect in the comedy community because you made it at such a young age rather than grinding it out for years, "paying your dues?"

That sounds easy enough, it just never works that way. 90% of the time you tell someone you're a comedian, their first response is "say something funny" and even jokes that work great on stage, you have no context, you didn't have time to get in the right mindset, and you are in a completely different environment than the one for which your jokes are intended. It always winds up being awkward and weird, and it's better to just be a dick about it than have people think you're a shitty comic.

PSA: If someone tells you they are a comic, don't fucking ask them to tell you a joke.
