My understanding (and I am Jewish but have never kept kosher and eat any bacon that is wafted in front of me): pigs themselves are not unclean to Jews, but eating the meat is.

Nonetheless, you are right that it was probably meant as a degrading gesture, with or without the knowledge that kosher Jews don't eat pork.

As for a real question: did you ever even give any thought to your Kickstarter taking off in the way it did? And if not, did you have any crazy physical reaction when it went nuts?
